Eric Melin is set to try win the highest quiz show prize when he appears on who wants to be a millionaire game. The 36 year old film critic has already had a go at trivia quizzes when he participated in "The World Series of Pop Culture", a VH1 TV game show, but he was eliminated there when he failed to answer a question which was 'right up his alley' - "In the famous scene from ‘There’s Something About Mary,’ what does Cameron Diaz mistakenly think is hanging from Ben Stiller’s ear?”. Despite being a film critic, Melin did not know the correct answer to this question about a true cult movie, and answered 'lotion' instead of 'hair jel'.

Now he is trying his hand again and hopefully his profession and education will help him do a better job if he comes across any more movie trivia questions in the upcoming episode of who wants to be a millionaire.

While Melin confesses to not knowing much general knowledge trivia he decided to go to the Kansas City Who wants to be a millionaire auditions when he heard that they were being held for a special "movies week" in which the game will devoted to trivia questions about the silver screen. Indeed he failed to pass the general trivia test, but made it through along with just one more person in the movie test, earning his shot at the big trivia jackpot.
