Who wants to be a millionaire game
hall of shame contestant number 1
Australia's who wants to be a
millionaire game supports msn Australia's version of 'who wants to
be a millionaire' is broadcast on Australia's Channel
9 which just so happens to have a marketing co-branding deal with
MSN in which they operate a collaborative content portal called
NineMSN. In this clip you can see the Australian who wants to be a
millionaire game host shamelessly insisting (though jokingly –
claiming Google is "yesterdays toys") that the contestant use his
lifeline with MSN search, while the wise contestant chooses to stick
with good old Google. When this doesn't help him get the right
answer, the host is just thrilled and taunts the contestant saying:
"told you"

The who wants to be a millionaire game hoax
An email hoax about 'who wants to be a millionaire game' spread like wildfire in the internet in the beginning of 2007. The story went that a contestant from Idaho named Kathy Evans appeared on who wants to be a millionaire, and couldn't make it past the first question, which as every who wants to be a millionaire game fan knows, would be easy for a four year old.
According to the circulated hoax, Mrs. Evans, a happily wed 32 year old mother of two, could not determine which was larger – a peanut, the moon or an elephant.
Upon being presented with this brain teaser, our imaginary Kathy panicked, didn't know what to do, and eventually chose to use up one of her lifelines.
After eliminating two answers using the 50-50 lifeline, she was left with two possible answers – the moon or an elephant. According to the urban legend, this was not enough for her, and she chose to use her second lifeline, by calling her friend, who as expected said she was quite sure that the moon would be bigger than an elephant. After arguing with her for the allotted time, she was still not convinced and chose to use the last remaining who wants to be a millionaire game lifeline –the audience vote. Eventually, of course, she decided to go by her guts, and chose the wrong answer, insisting that an elephant is larger than the moon.
This story definitely has an appeal, especially to who wants to be a millionaire game fans who probably fantasized similar scenarios from time to time. In fact, it was so convincing that the story was even picked up by many websites and bloggers who totally bought into it.
Actually, the story was made up by prankster Ben Spierenburg who gained notoriety as the author of this brilliant hoax.
In dreaming up a story that was so incredible that many people believed it to be true, and thus giving humanity a bad name, Ben truly earned his place in the who wants to be a millionaire game hall of shame, without even having been on the show.

Who wants to be a millionaire game
Strikes in France Many who wants to be a millionaire game
contestants panic in the show – the lights, the audience, the host
and the pressure of being broadcast live to so many people is just
too much. This French contestant was overcome by the ever
threatening 'black-out' and could not decide if the moon orbited
around Earth, or if it is the Sun. Since he was so unsure, he
decided to use his lifeline and ask for the audience for their help.
This is the amazing bit – after the votes were tallied, a majority
of the audience thought that the Sun was indeed the one to orbit the
Earth and not the other way around. This definitely earns France a
place of honor in the who wants to be a millionaire game hall of
shame.
A lawyer on who wants to be a millionaire
- contestant number 4
This who wants to be a millionaire game hall of shame contestant
is an Oregon attorney who starts off by telling us about how he
and his wife, who is also an attorney, both quite their jobs and
traveled around the world with the money they saved from working.
His outstanding award-winning performance in this episode is proof
that "clearing your head" by traveling for a year, may
in some cases actually clear it out.
It also reinforces our contention that you should never say it's
your final answer before being asked.
At least he gets a nice big hug from the host though, and a nomination
for our who wants to be a millionaire game hall of shame.

Sometimes even the "are you sure" question can't save
you from yourself
Not to be outdone by it's cross channel rival, Great Britain has
also sent us its representative for the who wants to be a millionaire
game hall of shame.
And this contestant shows us that even without sticking in the
automatic "that's my final answer" which is so popular
in the US and which has helped several of our other nominees for
the who wants to be a millionaire game hall of shame awards, you
can still make a fool of yourself.
It's not that the question was so easy that anyone would know it
(though it was hardly a difficult one), it's just that air of superior
'know it allness' with which the answer was delivered that makes
this contestant worthy of his place in the who wants to be a millionaire
game hall of shame.

Who wants to be a millionaire game audience can also screw up.
Contestant number 9 for the who wants to be a millionaire hall of
shame awards is not the contestant. It's the audience.
The contestant here was faced with a question she didn't know the
answer to, so she asked for her audience lifeline. 72% of the audience
chose the wrong answer. Statistically speaking, the contestant made
a very sound decision to trust the audience, seeing as there were
four possible answers, but unfortunately for her, they were wrong.
The results brought tears to her eyes, but at least she could comfort
herself with a prize of 1000 dollars. That's one of the nicest things
about who wants to be a millionaire – even if you loose, you
can still win something.
In this case she can also win the who wants to be a millionaire
hall of shame award.
